in three weeks, i'll be departing for a 15 day vacation in europe. my itinerary is 6 days in paris; then off to milan to shop & see duomo number 1; then cinque terre where we'll be staying in vernazza; then to a little farmhouse outside of bologna called corte d'aibo to enjoy the italian countryside; and finally to florence, where i plan on gaining multiple pounds from all the wonderful gelato.
the last time i was in paris, i was stuck in tourist-trapped alleys with 15 euro pre-fixes that catered to the american palate so i'm looking for some recommendations. where shall i dine in paris? in florence?

have fun!!

If you want good crepes I really like La Creperie des Cannettes in the Rue de Cannettes. It's really charming inside and the crepes are great. Then when you're done, at the end of the block there's a great cafe across the street from Saint Sulpice.
Very very jealous!!

when you get to Firenze, make sure you find Caffe Italiano (pizzeria - it's right next door to their fancy ristorante of the same name) just down the street from the famous Vivoli's gelateria - easily the best pizza i've ever eaten.

p.s. the info re: pizza is from 2002 when I was abroad...who knows if the place still exists.

The best recommendation I had when there was from a local - a great little neighbourhood restaurant called "Le 14 Juillet" at 99 rue Didot. It was magic.
